Hey! I'm Lauren, professional homebody.

I firmly believe that our surroundings have a profound impact on our health and wellness.

Back in 2013, I was a stressed out stay-at-home mom with zero decorating experience (and a few questionable DIYs to prove it 😅). What started as a creative outlet quickly turned into helping homeowners learn how to create beautiful spaces they truly love.

Over the years, my husband Robert and I learned everything the hard way: how to choose the right furniture pieces that function for our family, find hidden gems at thrift stores and Facebook Marketplace, and DIY high-end looks on a real-life budget. Now, I share those lessons so you can skip the frustration and decorate with confidence.

My philosophy is simple: you don’t need a huge budget or a designer to have a beautiful home; you just need a plan. I believe in using what you already have, making smart updates, and creating spaces that feel like you. Because being yourself is always in style.

That’s why I created DIY Decorator School™, to give you a clear, step-by-step system to avoid frustration, save money, and finally create the home you deserve.

Will you be designing my room for me?

I will be designing your room WITH you, but I will not be delivering an a la carte design to you. By taking this course rather than hiring a decorator, you will save thousands of dollars in the long run.

In the course, you'll watch video lessons of me teaching you my entire room makeover planning and executing process. These skills will be applicable for the rest of your life! No matter what trends come and go.

In the community, you'll be able to share photos of your home whenever you feel stuck and ask questions to get even more guidance as I walk with you step-by-step to a completely finished room. Not only will you get guidance from me, but you'll also get help from your classmates. Because when it comes to doing projects, having friends who "get it" to encourage you along the way is just as invaluable.

Can I access the community later after buying the course?

Yes! A 1 year membership to the community is included with the course, so you can join any time within the 12 month time frame! (After the 1 year mark, you can renew your community membership.) But whether you take advantage of the community or not, you can still do the course on your own. The support is there for you whenever you need it.

Do I need Facebook to do this?

Nope! The course is hosted on a dedicated platform, so you can study the material on your own as much as you need. But to join the community for extra support, a Facebook account is required.

What if I only want to do a room refresh, not a full room makeover?

That totally works too! The information in this course is still applicable whether you have a room that's sort of finished and just needs some polishing or you are preparing for an entire home renovation.

Walking through a room makeover from start to finish will give you the best learning opportunity for a beginner, but our system is repeatable for any project big or small.

Does this system work for large home renovations?

Yes! The skills and resources you will get from this course can still be used in bigger home improvement projects like kitchens and bathrooms. I especially recommend the Extra Credit version of the course for this to give you access to the Lab Partner lesson and Room Makeover Roadmap spreadsheet planner.

Can I join the community without buying the course?

Unfortunately, no. The course gives you all of the invaluable information you'll need. The community serves as support to guide you through applying what you learn in the course.

Can I do this if my style is different from yours?

Absolutely! In fact, I hope your style is different from mine! We celebrate uniqueness around here. Homes have different personalities just like people do. There is no need to follow trends or spend money on the "latest and greatest". The goal is for you to feel empowered by your own beautiful uniqueness.
